First Aid & Injury Management |
| . |
| With
today's fast-paced sporting activities at school level,
parents, teachers and sports coaches are often faced with more
regular sports-related injuries as well as the more serious
on-field traumatic incidents. |
| . |
| Whether
it is due to the common misconception that “youngsters”
cannot injure themselves as severely as adults can when
playing sport or whether it's just the sheer determination of
the players supportive parents who will stop at nothing to see
their child succeed, the school sports field has become a
notorious place for the mismanagement of children involved in
sporting accidents. |
| . |
| The
lack of understanding and knowledge regarding the very basic
principles of providing first aid for both minor and severe
sporting injuries often leaves many children with promising
sporting careers
that end prematurely due to minor injuries that were
mismanaged and resulted in long-term problems. Unfortunately
some children have even lost their lives on the sports field. |
