hour course will introduce each learner to first aid
and will enable them to effectively manage an injured or ill
person in an emergency situation within their work environment
until medical help arrives. |

Objectives: |
| To
facilitate the learning of basic life-saving skills that can
be used in the work environment and to ensure that each
learner has both the skill and confidence to be able to assist
the injured in an emergency situation, within the work
environment. |

| Any
individual in a workplace environment. This course is a
requirment for all companies according to the
Occupational Health & Safety Act 1993/85. |

- Principle
of First Aid & Emergency Scene Management.
- Managing Shock, Unconsciousness & Fainting.
- Knowing your First Aid Kit. (First Aid Kit and
Equipment Orientation.)
- Wound Care & Severe Bleeding.
- Artificial Respiration. (Adult)
- First Aid for Choking Casualty. (Adult)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - CPR. (Adult)
- Cardiovascular Emergencies. (First Aid for Heart
Attack & Stroke.)
- Bones & Joint Injuries. (First Aid for fractures,
dislocations & sprains.)
- Head, Neck & Spinal Injuries.
- Medical Conditions. (Diabetes, Asthma, Epilepsy &
Breathing Emergencies.)
- Burns & Scalds. |

| Minimum
Participants: |
| For
on-site training, a minimum of six candidates is required. For
off-site training, please enquire about our facilities and
public course dates. |

| Included
with the Course: |
Each
learner will receive a comprehensive first aid student pack
which includes a manual and an anti-AIDS protection key-ring.
On successful completion of the course each learner will
receive a certificate valid for 3 years.
